Clean Up The World Campaign – 2014

During the month of September Environment Africa will be co-ordinating cleanups around Zimbabwe.  partnering with the Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources and EMA.  The clean ups are supported by RAZ, The Retail Association of Zimbabwe.  19 – 21st September is Clean up the World weekend.

As a Member of  Clean Up the World Campaign we endorse the theme – Our Place – Our Planet – Our Responsibility which highlights the positive impact each and every one of us can have on our environment by taking individual and collective action.  Clean Up the World is a community-based environmental campaign that inspires and empowers individuals and communities from every corner of the globe to make their environment a cleaner, healthier place to live.  The campaign brings together businesses, community groups, schools, governments and individuals who carry out a range of activities and programs that positively improve local environments through cleaning up and conservation.

Founder and Chairman, Ian Kieran says “Over the last 18 years we have seen remarkable activities undertaken all around the world to protect and promote local environments. The estimated 35 million volunteers, who annually take part in Clean Up the World, are taking responsibility for the environment – and the effects are felt not only by your own communities, but right across the planet.   It highlights how local action, taken by every one of our communities and volunteers – has a global impact.  It asks each of us to take responsibility for the wellbeing of our environment at a personal and community level and in so doing, contribute to the global effort”
